Thief!! Who stole my honey?

We got about 12 gallons of honey (give or take a quart) off of 5 hives. That's not very much. We had to start over this year because the bees swarmed in the spring. We try to get the honey off before the goldenrod blooms. I am told it makes bitter honey. I only had one minor incident letting the honey overflow into the floor during straining. Lost about a quart. Below are two videos of our honey extracting process, each about 2 min. and no, I didn't get stung.

County Fair

This past week was our county fair. I won $100 to my complete surprise. Stacy won first place on a picture of a tombstone of some relative in Alabama.
Among the things I won first place for were cherry pie, blueberry pie, strawberry and blueberry fried pies a skirt, a clown costume, canned carrots, catsup, an ink drawing, an oil painting of clay pots, fresh green beens, a small pumpkin, carrots, and the prettiest yellow onions we've ever had.

New Arrival Ella Rose Abner

Born July 23rd at 8 a.m. in Oakridge TN. 7 lbs and 6 oz.

A smashing Hit

July has brought many adventures. I was parked outside of a house I clean one lazy Tuesday morning. Parked behind the 18 yr. old that lives there, I was looking out the window wondering if I needed to move my car or if he could get around me. Didn't matter, he forgot completely about my car and backed over the top of it totalling it. I found a man down the road from me a bit who does auto body work cheeply. One said Mr. Parton, and yes he is some distant relative of Dolly. Mom and I made a quilt for Jeremy's baby. Mom is holding Molly Dodson. When we tried to hide her behind the quilt, she reached out and pulled it down as if to say "hey! you can't hide me."
