My 27th Birthday

Friday I recieved a package from my friend Jessica in Ky. It was a pleasant surprise. I now only need 4 books to complete my Grace Livingston Hill collection. Thank you Jessica.

We spent the weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN. My parents took me to the Dixie Stampede(http://www.dixiestampede.com/). We visited a Liberty Baptist Church on Wears Valley Road. I was pleasantly surprised as I agreed doctrinally with the Sunday School lesson and even more pleased with the message "Enemies of the Home" 1) careless Fathers 2) career minded mothers 3)compromising churches 4)uncontrolled children 5)worldly entertainment cant remember the alliteration. If you ever find yourself up in the Smokies over the weekend I definitely recommend this church. As Stacy and I started for home we decided to stop at th Smokey Mountain Knife Works http://www.eknifeworks.com/ in Sevierville. I was determined to let Stacy stay as long as he liked since he endured me shoping. Upstairs is a knife museum, I found the oldest ones interesting. Down stairs are unique kitchen supplies and many other things ladies would be interested in. Also there is an artifact department where you can purchase items such as an authentic chain mail or an ancient canoe, civil war relics, african spears, stones, bones, and budas. On the main floor is any kind of knife or sword you can imagine. There are real stuffed wild animals, and a huge elephant head. And there was a sword in a stone two stories tall. Keep in mind the store doesn't cost you anything to go through. I wasn't bored even after 3 hours. I had locked my keys in the car. Our stay was the result of waiting on my parents to come with the extra key. I babysat Monday so my Mom and Dad could extend their anniversary trip. I was sharing my butterfinger birthday cake with 4 year old Hailey. She asked what I got for my b-day so I showed her a pretty little green book my parents got. She said "oh! thats a diahrea. I've got one that locks." Thought you might like the recipe to my favorite cake Butterfinger cake:

1 angel food cake 5 big butterfinger bars 1 large tub of cool whip 1 box confection sugar 4 egg yolks 1 tsp vanilla 1 stick of margarine. Melt margarine and let cool. Mix cool whip, egg yolks, and sugar. Add margarine and vanilla into cool whip. Break up cake small as nuts. Mix into cool whip. Pour half of candy into mix and sprinkle the other half on top. Chill for several hours.

Kitty Litter cake

We had homecoming at church yesterday and I made this lovely attractive cake. It was sooooooooo much fun. I laughed the whole time I was making it. And I loved the splash it made with the crowd. Here is a pic of my cake and the recipe.
"Kitty Litter Cake" ~
RECIPE! COMPLETELY EDIBLE, BUT YOUR FRIENDS MAY NOT THINK SO!
On a recent visit to our veterinarian to get shots for our cat I found this recipe on the waiting room bulletin board. After recovering from hysterical laughter, I obtained a copy from the office staff so that my wife could make it, which she refused to do. I took it to work and gave the recipe to a lady at work who loves cats. The pictures below show the results of her work. It doesn't look very nice, but it's actually quite tasty, so I decided to pass it along.
CAKE INGREDIENTS:
1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent
SERVING "DISHES AND UTENSILS"
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper
1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.
2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner in litter box and pour in mixture.
3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat in a microwave until soft and pliable. Shapethe blunt ends into slightly curved points. Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.
4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

Sarah Palin

I wanted to get up to date on this election. It is important. I will try to refrain from posting my views either negative or positive. I would like however to invite you to visit www.foxnews.com and look under videos and RNC speeches to hear Sarah Palin's controversial speech. Please leave a post with your thoughts concerning the matter.
