Friday in Va we went to see two Cape Henry light houses. We climbed the original which was the first government project of the newly formed United States. When electricity came in to play, they wanted to renovate it to wire it. They found some foundation cracks and decided the next storm would blow it over. A new metal lighthouse was commissioned. When the engineers set it up they took a look at the old one and said "those aren't foundation cracks, its normal settling." So Cape Henry is one of just a few places that has such a fenominon. The light houses are inside of Fort Story army base. Mom passed the entrance several times cause she didn't want to go in a military base. When we did, we had to get out of our vehicle and let them search it.
Later in the day I wanted to visit a free aquarium and Dad wanted pizza. The aquarium was free, but I've seen more interesting fish tanks in Dr.s offices. Thats all they were. It was a ruse to get you in so they could make a sales pitch. It was hard to find a pizza place that didn't sell beer or had a bar, but we did and it was good. Notice stacy on the other side of the aquarium. There is a sand shark in the picture but it looks like a potato.
On Saturday we headed back home. We went through Jamestown to kinda break up our trip. I loved it. It was awesome. There was a museum with artifacts and pictures and recreations. Then there was an indian village, three ships, and a fort that you could explore. All with live reenactors. Stacy and I helped scrape out a canoe one girl was making.
