Spaghetti Sauce Recipe from Better Homes and Gardens New Cookbook

3/4 cup chopped onions(or less)
1 clove of garlic or 1/8 tsp of garlic powder
3 tbl salad oil
2 one pound cans of chopped tomatoes (equals 4 cups)
2 six ounce cans of tomato paste
1 tsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2    tsp pepper
1 1/2 tsp dried oregano, crushed
1 bay leaf

If it is just too thick you can add water to thin it down to desired consistency. We usually brown ground beef and the onions and add all the rest of the ingredients. Simmer uncovered for 30 min. Remove Bay leaf. Supposed to serve 8 but it never has here.
